On and off

Every setting lives behind Ukti’s icon in Chrome’s toolbar. If you cannot see the icon, press the puzzle-piece icon (Extensions) in the toolbar and then the pin beside Ukti, so it always shows.

Off for one site

On the site where you do not want Ukti, press the icon and switch off This site. Ukti stops appearing on that site only. The same switch turns it back on.

Off everywhere

The switch at the very top, On everywhere, turns Ukti off on every site until you turn it back on. Nothing is deleted.

Turning Ukti off in the middle of dictation turns the microphone off at once.

When the control appears

Under Look, When it shows:

  • Smart (the default): appears when you click into a text box, hides when you leave it.
  • Every box: shows on every text box.
  • Chosen sites: only on the sites where you have turned This site on. A few chat, AI and email sites are chosen to start with.

How it looks

Also under Look:

  • Theme: Glass, Dark or Light.
  • Size: Small, Medium, Large.
  • Layout: All buttons open, or Collapsed (just the mic; the arrow opens the rest).
  • Where it sits: Automatic (beside the box you are writing in), Bottom right, or Bottom left. You can also drag the mic.
  • Which buttons to show: অ, EN, Undo and the move handle; hide the ones you do not need.
  • Always show button names: small labels beside the buttons. They show for the first few uses anyway, then step aside once you know them.

Ukti’s own language

Under Main, Language of these labels: whether Ukti’s buttons, messages and settings are in Bangla or English.
